The Hunting Hound, V

Description: "This hound was painted on a soft teal and naples yellow base color. Generally I do not use any white in my base wash but in this case I had covered a drawing that I was not as interested in as I expected to be and covered it up. Being a rare occurrence I was happily surprised by the rich washes over the teal. Each warm color was amplified gaining more glow than if it had been painted on any other transparent wash. It is possible that someday I will go through phase studying this effect. I should mention, I do love this hound. I've noticed how these older hounds have such strong souls. This is easily found in their eyes."
